FUND PARTNERSHIP AND SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

The FIRE program was established in 2007. It offers the possibility for other interested parties to join in according to their budget. The FIRE program trusts that opening so many different ways to help will allow a higher number of initiatives to be supported per funding cycle, as well as continue offering capacity building mechanisms such as mentoring, technical workshops and in-depth publications to the selected recipients.

Who can support FIRE program ?

Leading organisations support us in our objective to foster innovation and socio-economic development. Partners and sponsors offer their experience, advice and regional vision so we are constantly aware of innovation initiatives that will benefit from FIRE program funding. Organisations and individuals are welcome to support the program through partnership and a variety of sponsorship packages.

What will be your funding use for?

FIRE program offers flexibility to allocate contributions, allowing partners and sponsors to define how their contributions will be used, across a wide range of development projects, geographical areas and activities:

Grants: to local groups and organizations to design and test technical solutions to local issues.

Awards: to acknowledge the contributions to Internet development made by ongoing initiatives.

Mentoring: to prospective applicants throughout the entire application process to prepare better submissions.

Networking: to enable these fledgling projects to share information and experiences during the funding period and beyond.

PARTNERSHIP PACKAGE

FIRE program Partners are crucial to the success of the program. Their financial contributions and active participation in FIRE program committees support innovative, ICT projects that address issues facing local communities across the African region. Contributions range from USD 30,000 to 100,000, where 75% goes toward project funding and 25% funds the FIRE program mentoring, workshops and collaboration strategies. You can support FIRE program with smaller amounts, through a variety of Sponsorship Packages available.

Partners are members of the FIRE program Steering Committee, taking direct part of the decision making process in all aspects of the program operation. Partners can also appoint a representative on the Grant Evaluation Committee (GEC), in charge of the selection of final grants recipients. Additionally, partners can access a series of branding/marketing benefits provided by the FIRE program secretariat, such as use of logos for promotion purposes and tailored communications activities aligned with their own communications and philanthropic activities.

Through the Premium Packages, sponsors have the ability to fund an entire grant, with a possibility of indicating a particular topic or economy of interest. Additionally, they can:

  • Use of FIRE program sponsor logo for marketing materials
  • Full name and logo included on FIRE program website
  • Tailored communications activities to align with Partners' communications and philanthropic activities
  • Tailored press release scheduled within the FIRE program mailing lists (for Platinum only)
